AMA Richmond is committed to supporting the next generation of marketers.

College students on the path to a career in marketing can get a head start on their professional futures by taking advantage of the AMA Richmond opportunities such as those listed below.

Opportunities

Annual Scholarship Awards

Each year, AMA Richmond awards scholarships to exceptional undergraduate college students in marketing or a marketing-related degree program. To learn more about the Robert R. Barber Endowment Fund for Scholarship and Training Awards, click here.

Guest Lecturers

We can supply local collegiate—and sometimes high school—classrooms with some of the best and brightest minds in the marketing profession: our members! All you have to do is ask.

Real-World Marketing Q&A

AMA Richmond has a long history of working with our local colleges and universities to shed light on the realities and opportunities of our profession. We engage in panel discussions, allowing student members to ask questions about the marketing profession, including what to expect in the real world, how to prepare for their career, and how to differentiate themselves in the job market. Our real answers are based on years of experience and industry insight.

Learning & Networking Opportunities

Students and professors alike are welcome to join us for world-class speakers at our Signature Speaker Series events. These programs are great opportunities to learn about a variety of marketing topics as well as meet and greet AMA Richmond chapter members—who could be future employers! In addition to our Signature Speaker events, student members are invited to attend all AMA Richmond member events and receive discounted pricing!

Job Shop

In 2009, we kicked off the first-ever career fair at Virginia Commonwealth University. This members-only event gave student-members the opportunity to have their résumés critiqued by real-world marketing recruiters and participate in mock-interviews with marketing professionals. We welcome the opportunity to hold a similar event with your chapter – please reach out with interest!

Mentorships

Our Mentorship program is on pause right now but please stay tuned, as this is something we look forward to bringing back in future seasons.

Have feedback? Our collegiate relations is all ears.
