Topic: The Distinction Between Brand Marketing & Sales and How the Two Must Work Together
- Marketing serves to make prospects aware, interested, and informed of a product or service while sales works to reinforce the offering’s value to convert these prospects to customers or clients
- To create a cohesive partnership between marketing and sales you must first understand the primary goal of marketing (provide a 50,000-foot view and identify ways to promote a brand or offering) and sales (hit quotas and volume goals in the shorter term)
- When you can align these two imperatives the business will be primed to attract more leads and generate more revenue. This can be accomplished by identifying the list of deliverables each party must provide to the other
