Time:
8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

Katrina will teach us methods for mobilizing
organizational advocates to become fundraisers, making a
marketing expenditure do double duty as a fundraising tool
and show us an overview of online fundraising platforms and
strategies required to get money flowing through them.
-
If you already have an online fundraising platform,
you'll gain a strategy for squeezing more income out of
it.
-
If you don't have a fundraising platform, you'll gain a
basic knowledge of them.
-
If you use a recognition gift program, you'll hear one
very opinionated discussion of how they should be
structured to be effective.
-
We'll show you a low expense way to raise money and
awareness at the same time.
Katrina VanHuss is the founder and CEO of
Turnkey
Promotions. Turnkey Promotions is a Richmond, Virginia
based company that specializes in recognition and
fundraising incentive programs. And, well, we put logos on
stuff too. Our recognition programs for our corporate
clients change behaviors; our incentive programs for our
nonprofit clients increase dollars for the cause and lower
administrative costs. Our logo-imprinted items make for good
grocery store conversations.
Our nonprofit and corporate clients often come to us for
ideas. They ask us: “How can I get and retain clients?” and
“How can I bring in more fundraising dollars?” They also
ask: ”How do I handle the logistics of delivering my
promotional gift?” and “What type of tee shirt do you
recommend for my event?” Stuff like that. We love our
clients and we love solving their challenges.

John
will share his experiences of launching a new
business during the recession and the value of
establishing an advisory board of professionals who
knew more about starting and operating a business
than he did. After a few fits and starts, the
Floricane Advisory Board did exactly what it was
designed to do -- it kicked John’s entrepreneurial
butt up-and-down the street a few times and
challenged him to get serious about his business.
If you own a business or are considering
launching a new venture, you’ll hear about the huge
value in understanding different ways to invite
experts and seasoned businesspeople to the table
that will provide advice and challenge your
perspectives. Several members of Floricane’s
advisory board will be in attendance to answer
questions after the presentation.
