David
Roth is the managing partner
of the innovation company, Get Stirred Up. He launched this firm
after founding and serving as chief executive officer and chairman
of Cereality Operators, Inc. (parent company of Cereality Cereal Bar
and Café) from 2001 through 2007, followed by the company’s
acquisition by Kahala-Cold Stone, franchisor of 14 foodservice
brands with over 4500 locations worldwide, including Cold Stone
Creamery and Blimpie.
David conceived of the
first-ever cereal bar and café retail concept back in the late
1990’s, inspired to create a home-for-cereal away-from-home for the
95% of the American public who claimed to enjoy it. A marketing
professional formally trained in human development and
entrepreneurial by nature, David began his career in 1986 after
completing his graduate studies at Harvard Graduate School of
Education, carving a niche for himself as an expert in sensitive
workplace communications, working with such companies as Bank of
America and Wells Fargo Bank.
Turning to more personal
interests, he launched Palate and Spirit, a specialty consumer
magazine that focused on the burgeoning culinary travel market.
David then took over the branding reigns at Fodor's and Mobil Travel
Guides, a division of Random House, where he was associate publisher
and concurrently worked with The New York Times as an expert on the
travel and hospitality industries for the special sections division
of their advertising department. Prior to launching Cereality, David
founded Custom Marketing Partners, a marketing and brand development
consultancy that provided a full roster of services, ranging from
business planning to identity development, advertising and sales
support.
